Lockdown Day #11

Well ystdy was just blah, very very blah, and also very never-ending.  There was a point where I thought all my clocks had stopped.  It didn’t seem to matter whether I was sitting there doing nothing or if I was busy being productive, time just was crawling by.  Thankfully today was much better, I think the sun being out helped.  It’s crazy how a blah day weather-wise can also affect your mood.  The sun just somehow makes the day better, and makes you more motivated to do something, well I find it does anyhow.

Glenny and I found the Lego today, we have had lots of fun with it.  At this stage we have decided to just build the construction dudes, for those of you new to the JB Lego World the construction dudes are the baddies.  This is because in all the Lego City I have got I have only got one criminal, yet there are many many police people and they would get bored and restless if we didn’t give them something to do.  But since there is not a lot going on at the moment we think that having only construction dudes for a while could be entertaining.  Also, don’t think that we think real life construction workers are baddies, it’s just that it was btwn the fireman, the hospital people and the construction dudes, so not really a contest there is there?

I also went for a run, pretty stoked as it was the first time since starting running again that I did more than 5km without stopping.  I had forgotten the magical ingredient in the other runs (either that or I have magically gotten fitter after being sick and not running for a week… go figure), the magical ingredient being my iPod.  Still just ran around Frimley Park, I know not everyone is doing the stay in just your neighbourhood unless you are going grocery shopping or to work thing but I feel like it is a stupid idea to go further afield if you don’t need to.  But that may just be me with a sketchy immune system on my mind.  Frimley Park is about, I think, 2.3km if you run around the outskirts which is what I normally do but then I get bored, so today I zigzagged my way up and down then went around some of the outside.  Basically ran till my cd ended then headed to my finish line, then died lol.  Am pretty stoked with my effort though.  Am also pretty glad I am back running, it is something I love, even if it’s not a good run it still tends to make me happy while I am running.

Did some baking as well today.  Yum yum.  Been meaning to for a few days now, but the cookies I wanted to make require the mixture to be refrigerated for 4-6 hours (or ideally overnight) before baking the cookies, which I normally remember about too late and then I decide to do it the next day, which I again forget about so then decide that the next day will be the day.  It also doesn’t help that there is always a tomorrow at the moment.  Also made some weet-bix slice, if Ken is lucky I will take him some tomorrow, if he isn’t then it’s all mine to munch on cos it’s not like anyone is going to be visiting any time soon lol.

Am currently watching virtual Indycar which is a weird experience.  It’s like watching me and bro race but with no going off the track and no one constantly spinning while trying to get back onto the track, or taking out someone lapping them on their re-entry, and no one is missing any body work.  Not sure if they know what they are doing if they aren’t leaving the track and leaving bits of their vehicles all around the track lol.

Am going into work tomorrow for an hour or so which will be good.  There is a broadcaster that it is easier if I record with and that gives me an excuse to go in which I am taking.  Is still weird doing our recordings by ringing the broadcasters and then hitting record and we edit the extra stuff in afterwards but it is great that so many broadcasters are willing to do it this way as it means we are playing new shows for many of the shows, not just old repeats.  Of course for some there are repeats but we are doing what we can and the best bonus is that it is keeping Ken busy, and while I can handle chilling at home inbtwn work when there is not much to do, Ken is not someone who can handle doing not much or being bored.  I do feel sorry for him being stuck at home in the wknds but atlst for him he has work to go to everyday to keep busy.

I finished my book today, am kinda sad about that as it was a really good book.  You know the kind, where you are torn btwn reading it really fast and reading it really slow.  Fast cos you just really want to know what happens, and slow cos you don’t want to leave the amazing world and characters the author has created.  This book was like that.  It was Winter of Fire by Sherryl Jordan, and it was just amazing.  It is a young adult book and the edition that I read was a 25th anniversary edition and all I could think each time I put it down was ‘where was this book when I was a teenager’.  Of course it was around, I am not that old, but for some reason it was not on my radar.  Teenage me really would have loved it, I mean grown up me loved it so of course teenage me would have as well but you know when you read something that you know a younger you could have benefited from, well this was like that.  The plot was very typical for a fantasy book, there was oppression, someone who stood out from the crowd and then a mission for that person, and along the way to complete the mission there were trials and tests and then an adversary to fight and overcome, and not to give away the ending but a victory (as you know there will be because the heroine is not the star of the story, and telling the story in a reminiscing way, if she loses).  And now I have that awesome book ending and nothing can come close to it so what on earth can I read now and not be disappointed by feeling, which is also why I haven’t read anything since finishing the book before lunchtime lol.  Not sure what I will follow that book by, it’s one of those do I read one I know I love or read something new and hope it is awesome dilemmas.  And as much as I hate these dilemmas I also love them cos it means you have just finished something amazing and that doesn’t really happen all that often.

Lockdown Day #9

Wow, we are almost into double digits for days of being locked up… not sure how I feel about that.

Today was a not good day work wise.  Pretty much everything that could be made more difficult was.  The computers at work were on the biggest go-slow of their lives, also driving Ken insane and it didn’t help with the remoting in from home cos things are often jerky at the best of times and today it keeps freezing so I had to log out then back in again.  On top of that the website behind our website was glitching out and I kept having to get my friends at Firecrest to fix it.  It was a mix of my login being a dick and the website having issues from what I gathered.  Good thing they are also working from home, and it gave me someone to have a chat with.  Also spent some of the day email chatting with Todd, one of the guys down at Coast Access Radio (Kapiti area).  He is also in a single person bubble and although it’s not the same as hanging with someone it is nice to be able to compare notes about the things that we finding the most annoying and just chat about general stuff.  Needless to say I had to take a few breaks to calm down else my laptop would have been punched or thrown at the door or something.  Ended up working till around 3 cos actually quite a bit to do, it was longer than most Fridays lol.  May end up working some in the wknd as well, as I have work to do and I am likely to get bored.

Was not so happy when a friend asked what I was up to this wknd, it just reminded me that I have two days with nothing to do and no friends I’m allowed to hang out with.  Stupid lockdown.  I mean I do have stuff to do but there is no motivation really to do any of it.  Plus today was freezing bloody cold, we didn’t even get to 20 degrees, and the wknd is meant to be cold too so I might just huddle under blankets and hide. Or maybe clear the spare room enough to build a fort…

My assistant and I had a compromise today, he got up this morning but he didn’t do any work.  Yeah I may have lost out on the compromise but atlst he was hanging with me in the same room which was nice.  And he looked after my book so he semi worked, kinda.  We had a discussion and decided that as it is Easter next wknd and that means we have extra days off with nothing to do (oh the joys) that we need to theme each days outfit to make things more interesting and special.  We have plenty of ideas and we just need to agree on if we are picking our combined top 4, or if we are drawing from a hat each morning…. I know, massive decisions that we have to make, life is so hard lol.  We did decide on the rules though, the outfit has to be made up of clothes or items that I own already, I am not allowed to sew something for it.  If possible I need to include accessories like shoes and jewelry if applicable.  And I need to take a pic for the blog, so you guys can see how awesome my life is lol.

Today we also watched highlights of Bathurst 2001 (after I finished work if you are wondering), and can I just say watching them have to change gears properly was awesome, until Skaife overtook Murphy cos Murph missed a gear then it wasn’t quite so awesome.  But it still kinda was, cos they just don’t race like that now.  And yes I still verbally assisted the cars that were racing and shared my encouragement, or displeasure, depending on the driver.  I may even have clapped with joy when certain cars left the track hehe :)

Also, just in case you didn’t know, I have typed over 5,000 words in this diary thing, which means you have read over 5,000 of my rambling words hehe.  Oh and it’s 8 pages in word which means if you were to read this out loud it would take roughly between 24-32 minutes, just in case you were wondering lol

Lockdown Day #8

Went into work this morning, was so good to speak to a human being face to face, so so good.  Is nice to know that I have a someone to meet up with, even if it’s just once a week its better than nothing.  Plus he likes my haircut, he thinks it looks awesome.  I mean I thought it looked awesome but is nice to have another person’s opinion, which was not biased at all.  Who needs hairdressers after all lol.

Not that it matters to you folks, but in my down time (otherwise known as boredom) I have been finding awesome shows that our sister stations are producing and am chucking them on our station.  Is an awesome sharing network we have going on which I love.  And there are so many great shows out there being made that it would be rude to not play them for our listeners.  Am also finding some great shows we have done over the years and am resurrecting them from the archives to give them another airing.  There is a great series called Aviation Heritage that I have resurrected, perfect timing with ANZAC coming up I think, and it’s a well done show so win-win for me :)

When I got home from work today and checked my mailbox I had mail, and it wasn’t just boring bill type mail, it was proper mail.  I did a happy dance at the letterbox, obviously lol, and made my neighbours laugh which strangely made me even happier.  It wasn’t super amazing mail, and I knew what was in it cos had spoken to Dof and he had told me already, and the letter was sent like forever ago, but still mail is mail :)

In the assistant update, today he progressed to looking after my phone and my book of super impt stuff and he did a super awesome job at it.  He didn’t drop anything and he didn’t hand me the wrong thing at any stage so I think he is progressing nicely to be allowed to learn some computer stuff next week.  He seems to think he gets tomorrow off which I don’t understand, I didn’t get Friday’s off when I was learning a job, any job that I have learnt.  I offered that we could knock off early but he seems to think no work is better than knocking off early, which I guess is actually true but so not the point.  He will be in for a shock tomorrow when I make him get up and help me hehe.

Cleo and I played a game today.  It was to make phrases out of our first names.  The rules were simple: we had to use every letter, the phrases didn’t have to make sense, and the words didn’t have to be spelt 100% correct so long as the other one knew what it was meant to say.  Glenny decided the game was stupid and didn’t want to play.  I think it was because he only has one name and was jealous of all the fun stuff we could come up with using our multiple first names (first names in this game are first and middle if you hadn’t realised).  It didn’t really matter though cos he helped from the sidelines.  Our favourites were:
For Cleo – Cool Zap Real Tenor, Ozone Pear Call Rot, and Top Zone Or Real Cal
For Me – Sillie Star Nab Lila Jean, Nail Sale Stab Jar Nil Lie, and A Snail Jelli Trail Beans
Feel free to play the game yourself and let me know what you get with your first names hehe.  Is actually quite fun, and uses up time which is not a bad thing these days.

I also think I might be a tad addicted to herbal tea, but I figure it’s not too bad cos its better than caffeine, well depending on who you listen to, and its tasty.  If you are wondering at the moment its peppermint tea if I want a hot drink, and tropical if I want a cold one :) both are super super yum.  And mum has this amazing ability at keeping me in stock with peppermint tea hehe, which means I have plenty to last me through lockdown which is cool.

Have discovered that I am not a big fan of going to sleep at the moment.  I was talking it over with Ken today and I think it is because by the evening I have done a day alone, and I have survived and it’s all good, but once that light goes out and you fall asleep the next time will be the morning which means you have to survive a day alone, and what if that day is not like the previous, what if you don’t survive it quite as well as you did the others…. So the solution is to not turn out the light, and not go to sleep cos then you stay on the day that you did survive.  I have also discovered that nothing is a rush any more.  I was about an hour later to work than I was planning to be today but that is because what is the point in rushing, the quicker you do something the more time you have at the other end to fill in.  Also took me a decent enough chunk of extra time to walk home after work, I didn’t take a different route or anything, just altered my pace unconsciously to stretch it out.

Lockdown Day #7

The last two days (Monday and Tuesday) were basically write-offs for me.  I was hit by a decent head cold, no worry about it being coronavirus as it was all my head, I am pretty sure if I was to have chopped off my head my body would have been perfect, well except for the oxygen… guess I would have had to figure out another way to get that… and to talk… not talking would kinda suck, guess it’s a good thing I kept my head on.  Normally I probably would have gone into work and tried to work for a morning and then bailed on home and repeat, but as I was all set up at home to work (and kinda stuck here anyhow) I just did what I could then napped, then if felt like it did some more work before another nap.  So overall Monday and Tuesday were just big giant naps with little bits of work and consciousness jumbled in.  Was starting to feel human again ystdy evening which was nice and then today has been a good day.  No naps needed and even got outside for a decent walk, not really far distance-away-from-home-wise, just went up to Frimley Park and wandered round there a couple of times while chatting with mum and dad which was nice.  I am pretty sure that if I was trying to work and get better I would still be sick, and that it was purely down to the fact that I let myself sleep whenever I felt like I needed it that got me better so quick.  Now the real test is will I remember this when I get a cold and things are back to normal…. I’m thinking not but hoping I will.

I realised, while sorting out my toast for dinner tonight, that when the government said to just buy groceries like normal they should have been more specific and warned people to look at what they are going to be running out of within the next week or so.  Turns out I am not only out of jam and honey, I am also out of peanut butter.  I only have vegemite (gluten free of course) to have on my toast now :( I may need to go to the supermarket sooner than planned.  Did get some yummies dropped off ystdy though, total surprise which made it all the more awesome.  I was actually awake, which was good, and reading on my beanbag in the sun and I saw a car pull up across the road that looked like Ken’s car.  Out comes Ken with two bags of chips for me :D being the good people that we are I stayed by my front door while Ken left them on my letterbox, when he walked back to the car I went and grabbed them.  Was kind of him to think of me needing a treat when he was at the supermarket, and he knows that chips are my total weakness lol.  Dunno how I lucked out to get such a good boss esp at this time with what’s happening in the world but I am mega glad and thankful that I do.

I also realised today that I may not be as realistic as I should be, I have put the lockdown days in my diary, up to day 20…. Whether I am being optimistic or deluded I am not sure, possibly a bit of both.  I also thought I was doing real well until someone reminded me that we are only at day 7, and that there are still atlst 3 weeks to go :( I keep thinking its only round the corner, just a couple more days, till I can see my friends and family again.  That would be nice wouldn’t it, hanging with other humans, getting a hug…. Oh the dreams I dream lol.  Super glad I grabbed hugs off Brudda when he visited just before we weren’t allowed to see or be near other people.

Luckily, now that I am better, I get to go to work tomorrow – woot woot :) Not for a whole day but then I don’t really have a whole day worth of work to do so I will just go in in the morning after doing some work stuff here, chill with Ken for a bit, do the invoicing and then I have an excuse to go back in when the statements are ready as I will have to send out the invoices and statements.  For once loving the start of the month lol.  My assistant (Glenny of course, no window sitting for him, he is working hard, or hardly working… one of the two) is getting quite good.  I started him off small, holding pens, looking after bits of paper etc, and he’s doing so well at all that I think I may start teaching him to type.  I expect him to pick it up quite quick cos he’s mastered the other tasks super well and super fast.  Guess we will find out when I get round to letting him help.  Maybe not with accounts though as I think he may be a tad unconcerned with ensuring the amount is correct… prob not the best thing to start him on.  Plus he will be staying to guard my place while I go to work, I tell you this assistant is mega talented.  About the only thing he never seems able to help with is paying the bills….. lol.  Let’s hope he can keep me as sane as I normally am when the lack of human contact starts to get to me… either that or maybe he can help me build a fort to hide in….

Lockdown Day #4

Well I have survived the first weekend of lockdown, well technically I haven’t survived Sunday evening yet but I am pretty sure I will so I feel safe saying I have survived the weekend.  Haven’t done a lot really, well actually ystdy was much more productive than today, and I actually had the terrible thought that this lockdown might be a bad thing for my relationship with my number one slave.  I had this thought after realising that I had just done the three small jobs I was going to get him to do when he visited, not ones he had written down and knew about, but you know, those little jobs you may have that you get your other half to do (or if you are a other half maybe you get asked to do random things every now and then).  Well I did those three jobs ystdy, in all fairness Dof was meant to be visiting this wknd so they are kinda being done on schedule.  Just if I did them already, does that mean I will move onto the bigger jobs, the ones he knows about, before this lockdown is over…. Cos if I do then my slave may realise that he is not actually as required for manual labour stuff as I have led him to believe he is… I swear it is out of love that I do this, love and that I like to still need him to do stuff for me cos its nice when he does.  Dof, if you are reading this, there is one job I will never ever get around to doing and that is the grass, I’ve given up, I just can’t grow grass.  Or kill a lemon tree it turns out but that is another story.

So ystdy, I tidied up my spare room, mostly.  There are still some bits of it that need tidying, but I tidied with a rubbish bag in the room so there was no second guessing and taking stuff out of the rubbish pile before it gets to the bin like there normally is.  Kinda thinking maybe shouldn’t have been so ruthless with a few things but hey, I will forget what I tossed out soon enough and if not one day I am sure these things called shops will be open once more lol.

I also cut my hair ystdy, it was getting way too long and hairdressers aren’t considered essential (crazy whoever decided they weren’t lol) so I kinda had to do it myself.  It actually doesn’t look that bad, ok so it aint great either but it certainly aint laugh-worthy and I think I can rock it so score one for hairdresser me hehe.

Today has been a much quieter day, and Glenny and I decided that we would have our own space for a day.  No we are not fighting, and he has forgiven me for the jar (mostly), he just didn’t feel like leaving the bedroom and I didn’t feel like arguing the point.  We do this sometimes, I think it is good for our relationship (lol).

Basically watched dvds all morning, then did some baking, and read some.  Then I went to go play on the swings in the park, however the playground is covered in caution tape and is apparently closed.  I know, you are wondering why I didn’t just jump the tape and play anyhow, well I would have but someone has obviously thought of people like me and they had tied the swings together with more tape and knots that I think was necessary, more than could be undone easily that is for sure.  So instead I went and did the Frimley Park Maze that I found the other day while running round the park.  Only took me 20 minutes, most of those walking round and round the same loop lol.  I eventually figured out that there was a part of the maze that I wasn’t getting to, and I figured out how to get there going from the finish to the start but took me ages to work out how to do it from the start to finish.  But don’t worry, I did work it out.  Then I did it from start to finish then from finish back to start.  It was fun.  And I’d just like to say, if there is anyone reading this that was in Frimley Park, early evening today, that didn’t know there was a maze there and saw a young lady walking round in circles pretending she was an airplane (sound effects included), don’t worry, lockdown has not made her crazy, she was like that already.  Why an airplane I hear you asking, well simple, it was that or a train and there were just too many perfect turns to resist the airplane :)

Other than airplane sound effects and yelling at TV (I still do not understand why sports players cannot stop something when they know it happened last time, surely they should be able to stop it happening the second or third time around, they are such poor learners and sometimes need verbal reminders.) I have not really spoken today, no that is a lie, I think I answered myself a few times…. Yeah this lockdown is awesome, not.  I also lost the fun that I was looking forward to which was going into work tomorrow, sad face.  Someone (yes me) has managed to get a cold (it’s just a cold, a normal boring cold, do not worry), and while I would, under normal circumstances, still normally go to work as it’s not a bad cold, these are not normal circumstances so home I will stay and will just talk to Ken via phone, oh yay.

Anyhow now I am off to enjoy some homemade bread and soup (shop brought as don’t have the right ingredients to make my own) for dinner, with homemade apple cake for dessert, yum yum.

Lockdown Day #2

So it’s day number 2, is the novelty still there? Yeah it kinda is in a way.  Atlst the novelty of working while motorsport is playing in the background is still there.  Got to go into work today, don’t think I have ever been quite as excited to go into work as I was this morning.  And it was a good morning as Theatre Themes, which is a show Ken does, was all songs picked by me.  Such a good show.  So I listened to that show then I went for run into work.  It’s not often you get to run into work as often I need my bag of impt stuff (like lunch hehe), so I wanted to make the most of the opportunity.  Worked for a bit, I think I may have talked more than Ken was expecting or wanting but hey there was a human there, an actual in person person, so I had to make the most of the chat opportunity, obviously.  I then ran home, a slightly longer way but no much longer.  I think I got more hellos and more you go girl, keep it ups than I ever do when there are more people out and about.  I would like to think that this lockdown is making people nicer and that they will stay that way when it is over but somehow I doubt it.  Is a nice dream though :)

Other than doing work and pondering options for wording of ads looking for a partner I haven’t done much today.  And no I am not going to place an ad to look for a partner, but it’s kinda fun to think of how you could word them and be truthful yet funny.  Have thought of things like ‘skilled at testing smoke alarms are working while cooking’, ‘talented cook, can even burn fried eggs’, ‘sane, so long as my reality is used as a benchmark not the actual reality’, ‘quirky, cos it looks more fun than weird’.  It’s actually quite fun, I highly recommend giving it a go hehe.

I have also been pondering the fact that the light purple in my room kinda makes Glenny look rather dirty…. Not such a good feature of the purple I must say, however we have discussed it and we are pretty sure Glenny had a bath last decade.  I say we are pretty sure because neither of us can actually remember him having one, but we think he must’ve so there is no chance he can be that dirty, it’s all a trick of the eye that the light purple has managed to pull off.

I may also have gotten bored and decided to see if Glenny would fit in my big jar, the one that had all the paper cranes in it… turns out he can, and he looks pretty awesome I think, he thinks he looks squished lol

Nowhere near 1,000 words today, but then I did drop a bedside table on my toe so I think that is a good excuse.  No I do not type with my toes but hey it’s an excuse and I’m gonna use it hehe.

Also I think that for a government that apparently cares about our mental health they could have made a special clause for people that live alone, that they can have a buddy that they can go visit so that they are not without human contact.  I know I can occasionally go into work but Ken is not the same as chatting and hanging with a friend.  If I break this lockdown thing I think it will be because I just want to see a friend and have a chat with them that is not via text or a phone call.  Just saying….

Anyhow, here is Glenny in a jar so you can also have a laugh :) you are welcome hehe

Lockdown Day #1

So I thought I would keep a blog diary type thing for the duration of lockdown.  Not because I think anything exciting is going to happen but because I think in a few year’s time when this time becomes but a distant memory I will wonder what I did and felt during this period and what better way to keep a record than on my blog.  I do not anticipate me writing something every day, probably more like every few days, but hey you never know, I may just be bored enough or do random enough things each day that they need to be noted.

Today is technically day one of lockdown, I was at home ystdy as well as out of the two of us at work my immune system is the more sketchy one so I am at home.  Although being an essential service we could both be at work, if only someone’s immune system didn’t let them catch pretty much every cold and bug out there, or that is how it feels anyhow.

One thing I have already noticed is that working from home you get more work done in a shorter period of time as there are less distractions, however because there are less distractions the day goes so much slower.  So not fair that one.  The one time I would like time to go a bit faster and it doesn’t.  I wonder if it will get better down the track when I get a bit of the routine going, or if it will stay just as slow, or shudder the thought will time go even slower when the novelty wears off.  I can tell you now there is not much novelty to working alone with no company.  Not that I would like to be stuck here with someone else, that would probably be more annoying given a week’s time, but to not have anyone to talk to seems strange.  I will be going into work once or twice a week to have an in-person catch up with Ken, ah the moments to look forward to lol.  Ken is dropping off a letter on his way home today which says that I work in an essential service so am allowed to be out and about, just in case I get questioned when I am going into work next week.

Other than work, today I have also watched Bathurst 2015, managed to watch this and work, mostly cos although I can’t remember what happened I did know that someone wins…. No idea who, but I wasn’t too bothered because it’s one of this been and done things.  I have also rearranged my lounge.  Now some of you may be thinking ‘but JB your lounge was a pretty close to perfect set-up, why change it’, and I would answer that there are two main reasons why I would.  Firstly how do you know it can’t be better unless you try something new… and secondly, I was bored! And my bdrm has already been rearranged due to removing everything out of it to paint it in the wknd.  Can’t rearrange the spare room yet because I am not bored enough to tidy it first.  When I get that bored then watch this space lol.

Also went for a run today.  I think I may be a runner at heart, not necessarily a good thing as it is hard on the body, however it is the only form of exercise I miss when I don’t do it for a whil, and it is also the only form of exercise (other than walking) that I stick with for longer than the novelty period.  I am definitely not a long-distance runner any more, or atlst not at the moment.  Managed 3.3km today without stopping, and no it was not a fast 3.3km either.  But so long as I don’t compare it with my running days when I would go for a 16km run for fun then it’s all good.  On a bonus note it leaves much more reading time if you are only running 3.3km instead of 16km lol.

I am also very pleased to say that although I know I have quite a few friends, I was not aware how many of them would check in with me (via text of course) to make sure I was going to be ok on my own and to offer that I could call them whenever I wanted if I want to speak to another human.  It is a very nice feeling, knowing that there are people out there with their own family stuff going on and what not, that are thinking about those that they know that are on their own for 4 weeks.

I do have my bears and trolls to keep me company.  Not sure how awesome any of them will be at keeping me sane but hey, we cannot expect miracles all the time lol.  Glenny has already said I cannot delegate work to him, but we will see about that.  He may also just get bored enough or sick of me enough to give it ago before this ends lol.  Not like he could do any major damage, other than take the station off air of course…. So maybe not the smartest idea to delegate to him….

Look at that, another 100 words and I would have written 1,000 words all about day one, maybe this lockdown business will make a writer out of me, now stop laughing!! People self-publish all the time and they have worse English skills than me so it could happen… maybe….. I know, it’s a total long shot but sometimes those have to be considered so that you know that what you have is actually exactly what you need. Haha I think I would hate to be a writer, much prefer the reading of other people’s writing efforts, plus I don’t think I really want people to read and review the characters and places dreamed up in my head lol.  Wahoo, over 1,000 words, go me lol.

Purple purple purple

I decided recently that I wanted to paint my bdrm purple, and ok so it wasn't so much a decision to do it as it was to do it now cos come on it was always going to be purple in the end lol. I spent last wknd doing the prep work and then bro visited this wknd to help with the painting. And just to make it clear, I did not need male assistance at all for this task, but since I don't like painting very much I roped one in hehe.

Am very very stoked with how it turned out. Am definitely loving the perks of owning own place, when I decide I wanna do something I just can, well provided I have the ability and finances but otherwise it's all good :)

Anyhow, admire away lol

Marathon In A Month Challenge

I have signed up to do the Marathon In A Month Challenge in March.  As part of the challenge, not only do I have to walk the distance of a marathon in one month, I also get to fundraise for the HB Cancer Society which I am stoked to do as they are a great organisation and rely on donations to keep going.

Now some of you may be sitting there reading this and thinking, Jill you used to run half marathons, where is the challenge in walking a full one over a month.  Well nowadays it is a challenge to do this distance, many days I struggle to walk the 2kms I have to walk to get to work, and I either end up walking rather slow, or I take Cleo.  As some of you are aware I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia (lol am slowly learning how to spell it as well), and this affects energy levels and pain levels.  I am hoping that by doing this challenge I become motivated to make the most of the days that I have some energy, even just a small amount, and get out there a bit more.  And on the days when I have none, well then I will just make an effort on another day.  The pain can be walked through (if I have to, it can be done) but the energy cannot be magiced up, I have tried many times and if it is not there it is not there.

If you would like to donate please head to my fundraising page:

Any amount, big or small, is appreciated :)

And feel free to check in and see how I am going as March gets along, I do like moral support so hit me up on social media or by text/email etc, I would love to hear from you.
